He may take X-rays for more effective diagnostics and to determine whether certain therapies, such as dental implants, are possible. The American Dental Association recommends that everyone have a dental exam at least twice a year. Dr. Hwang will discuss the appropriate exam schedule for your specific needs.

Professional Dental Cleanings
General dentistry involves routine cleanings with a professional hygienist. Even patients with stellar oral hygiene need to see a hygienist at least twice a year. The hygienist removes plaque deposits that accumulate below the gum line. Special tools remove tartar (hardened plaque) and reduce the potential for infection.
