Financial Policy

We feel that it benefits everyone to have a clear understanding of our financial policy.

Treatment Plans:

Based on the findings of the doctor and/or hygienists, a treatment plan will be presented to you before any services are provided. We will ask you to approve any or all of the treatment and make financial arrangements with our administrative staff prior to beginning treatment.

Payment:

Due to increased costs of doing business, it is no longer possible for us to provide service and bill for it later. We understand that this is a change from what was done in the past, but this same policy is in place in every other medical/dental office in the country. Payment is expected at time of service. Patients with insurance are expected to pay their copay and/or deductible at the time of the procedure. For multiple appointment procedures(i.e. crowns, dentures, root canals), patients are expected to pay half of their fee before the procedure is started and to pay the full balance before the procedure is completed. We reserve the right to charge a finance charge of 1.5% monthly to accounts that are 90 days or more past due.

Broken Appointments:

When we make an appointment for you, that time is reserved specifically to provide dental care for you. We understand that sometimes circumstances arrive that make it necessary to reschedule. We ask that you give us the courtesy of informing us if you cannot make your appointment. Therefore, as a courtesy both to staff and to other patients, we reserve the right to charge a broken appointment fee for appointments that are not kept and no advance notice of at least one business day is given to us.

Insurance:

We will file all insurance claims on your behalf promptly after treatment is completed. We will do our best to estimate based on your plan what insurance will pay for. However, what insurance pays for is ultimately between you, your employer, and your insurance company. Our East Hartford dental office does not have the ability to force insurance companies to pay for treatment. You are ultimately responsible for the full balance on your account regardless of insurance. Any fees that are not paid by the insurance will become the patient's responsibility.

Charge Cards:

Visa, Mastercard, and Discover may be used for payment on your account.

Payment Plans:

At our practice, we recommend the treatment that is required for our patients. These recommendations are made independently of our patients' financial situation. Often, dental treatment costs may exceed benefits covered by traditional insurance or they may exceed one's ability to pay for treatment at time of service. To this end, we participate in CareCredit, a program that allows patients to finance their dental treatment. CareCredit offers interest free payment plans that allow you to get the work you need as soon as you are ready.

Checks:

There will be a $35.00 fee on all returned checks.

Account Balances:

Your account is considered past due 90 days from the date of service and will be turned over to a collection agency. You will be responsible for all fees necessary to collect your balance.
